Baby boy C

10-21-08 I got to take pictures of one of the most adorable baby boy's I have ever seen! He is not only as beautiful as they come, but he has the most charsmatic and sunny personality. I had fun taking his pictures and he had fun playing with different"toys" and spending great time with mom!

Little Princess R

10-15-08 I had a great session with a beautiful little girl. I was very lucky that the light at her house was wonderful. However, I have learned that in a photoshoot nothing is ever easy. This little one year old would not sit still! She reminded me so much of my own little wiggle worm. Patience was the key of the day and I was able to get some great shots of her spontaneous smile, and bright personality! Here are some of my favorite pictures! Pictures are marked and low resolution to prevent image theft!

Baby B and Little G

Wow! my first "formal and official" photoshoot! It was a very interesting experience, the two year old was so exciting to be a little angel, that she posed and smiled and was just a pleasure to work with! the baby was a little more difficult. I think she found the basket too tough and the blanket too rough, but all in all I was able to get some great pictures! I am excited because in less than a week from the "birth" of "cotton candy photography", there have been four confirmations of photoshoots! yey! this will sure be an exciting journey! the pictures of my shoots posted on here are only done so with the parents' consents and will be low resolution and with copyright marks to prevent image theft! enjoy and please leave comments! The adventure now begins-- Info!

So far, all my pictures have been in a relaxed, non-studio environment.. I am at a party, I shoot, I am at home, I shoot; I am at the park I shoot. This new road will encompass exposure to different children, different situations and it will surely be an adventure! I am excited, nervous, jittery.. what if I cannot make the kids sit still? what if they won't smile? what if all the pictures are of them crying, upset? it will be an interesting journey and this blog, and whomever follows it, will be the witness of the growth of "Cotton Candy Photography"

How does "Cotton Candy photography" compare to other studio photography
well, it pretty much does the same thing, it takes "portraits" of your children.. but there are many differences, and I strongly consider them to be my stronger points
1- I offer edited pictures with an extensive knowledge in photo editing software. I can convert a picture black and white or sepia, or add texture, or vintage tones, etc. All pictures that I like from the photoshoot will have some degree of photoediting.. all to my liking.. and depending on the picture itself. In a regular photostudio.. they take the picture and just like that, they print it.. there is no editing in contrast, saturation, and much less textures or special effects (such as sepia, B&W, vintage tones, color focus, etc)
2- I am offering a long photosession.. At the regular, everyday studios, you generally go in, have the kid sit, take 6-8 shots.. that's it.. and from there hope to get a good, or a great shot. The number of pictures I take will depend on the child itself, the location, weather, number of outfits, etc.
3- You get to choose how many pictures per pose, per size. The charge is per pose, so if I edit 20 pictures, and you only like one, then you only pay the prize of ONE pose.. plus the printing fee of the number of pictures you want per size (8x10; 5x7, wallets, packages, etc)

4- If you have your own accessories you wish to include, feel free to bring them to the photoshoot, I can incorporate whatever is important to you.
5- I shoot on location, I need a place with plenty light such as indoor near a big window, or outdoors like a park or any location you consider beautiful! shooting on location allows the children to feel more relaxed and shine!

How does it work? How much are the pictures? when can I see them?
Since pictures will have some level of editing, I will need about a week to edit them, then I will email the proofs and the family will decide which pictures they want to order and how many.

There will be a $15.00 charge for the first pose (introductory fee! $20.00 after December 31st) then 9.99 for any additional pose, PLUS the printing fee per photo/package as follows:

(1) 8x10 and (2) wallets $4.00

(16) wallets $5.00

(1) 8x10 and (12) wallets and (1) 5x7 $8.00 (best deal!)

(2)5x7 (6)3x3.5 and (8) wallets $8.00

(1) 8x10 $3.00

(1) 5x7 $1.50

(4) Large wallets $1.50

(1) 11x14 or (1) 10x13 or (1) 12x18 $8.00

Burned CD with selected poses is available for $5.00 after transactions are completed. Images will be marked with signature.

Photographing other children!

Alana has been my main subject in these last few months, but it has been fun photographing other children. Being able to capture beautiful expressions in these babies gave me the motivation to pursue portrait photography, specializing in babies, infants and children! what an adventure this is going to be!
